This morning, projects were in full swing as everyone was conducting their research! Some of us headed off to the rainforest to note the locations of frogs, others were working with the biodiversity in ecosystems with different levels of human activit

y, and many of us were working with the nearby spiders: one group testing their reaction time and another looking to see how the size of the spiders relates to how many males and parasites are near them. Despite heavy rain pour during parts of the morning, we continued to work through the storm. At 12, we reconvened for a lunch of a traditional Panamanian soup. Afterwards,

we learned about reforestation and forest restoration and then repotted trees that were sent to ITEC from small pots to larger pots that will allow the trees to grow until they are eventually ready to be planted in the rain forest.
