Our Pedasí hosts

What a pleasure to be welcomed into the homes of our families here in Pedasí! Here are some first impressions:

Jamie: After nervously awaiting the arrival of my homestay family, they welcomed me with open arms. I’ve been able to put my Spanish to the test and come out strong!

Eli: I love my host family here. They treat me like their son. Everyone in Pedasí is very friendly. I feel fortunate to have such a generous and hospitable family.

Maddy: My family is friendly and kind to me even though I rarely understand what they are saying. This makes for some funny situations.

Alex: My host parents are incredibly nice and give me tons of attention. Perhaps too much!

Jasper: There’s an abundance of fruits growing in their verdant garden, all fresh, all delicious.

Patrick: I keep finding more animals at my house. For instance, a puppy crawling out from some strange corner behind a bowl of milk that my very, very, very friendly family left out. Oh, there’s a baby deer in our backyard!

Caroline: My host mom is really understanding and patient with my Spanish. I appreciate her for that. I enjoy going out with her to her job – she directs the sports center. I get to play with all the local kids.

Hannah: I really enjoy being with my family. They are really sweet and make me feel at home and talk slowly. I’ve especially loved playing soccer with my three host siblings and the other neighborhood kids.

Liam: My host family is very kind and understanding of my lack of perfect Spanish. They make me wonderful food, sometimes too much!
